On April 12, 2023, Lansdowne Borough received a Governor's Award of Excellence in Local Government for Health and Wellness Initiatives. Mayor Magda Byrne, Council President Benjamin Hover, Vice President Sinoe Naji-Taylor, Councilmember Will Griffin, and our Borough Manager joined with Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, State Senator Tim Kearney, and State Representative Gina Hackett Curry to celebrate the award in Harrisburg.
The award recognizes the borough's work to provide investment in green places for residents to enjoy and recreate. McKinley Tot Lot, the Bicycle Facilities, and Gateway Slope were all noted as projects that successfully offer opportunities for residents to recreate.
