Representatives of Greater Philadelphia Bicycle Coalition led more than a dozen bicyclists on a 20 mile tour covering a loop of Eastern Delaware County Bicycle Facilities. As part of the tour, the group stopped in Lansdowne on November 20th to learn about the Transportation Development and Community Initiative Grant funding received by the Borough of Lansdowne to develop The Walkshed Plan: connecting pedestrians and bicyclists to transit and the downtown businesses; the Gateway Slope project funded through Safe Routes to Transit; our current Delaware County Greenways grant to fund a feasibility study for a pedestrian bridge connecting Clifton Heights to Hoffman Park; the TCDI grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission to develop the Bicycle Facilities Plan for Lansdowne; and, the TCDI grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission to work with Upper Darby Township, East Lansdowne Borough, and Yeadon Borough to expand and connect all of the pedestrian and bicycle trails for an interconnected network that provides safe streets for all residents to drive, bike, and walk.
