Lansdowne Borough "Painted Lansdowne Pink" this Arbor Day by planting native redbud trees throughout the borough.
Lansdowne Borough celebrated Arbor Day with students from Lansdowne Friends School joining with Mary Lou Jennings of the Shade Tree Commission and Mayor Campuzano to deliver the Arbor Day Proclamation and plant several redbud trees at Sycamore Park. Many thanks to all who volunteered at the event!
The tree planting at Penn Wood High School was coordinated by Junior Councilmember Nhaomi Lartey. Pictured with students from Penn Wood High School are Assistant Principal Robert Curry, and School Board President Jennifer Hoff.
Students enjoyed helping with the Tree Planting at Ardmore Avenue Elementary School! Principal Raqueebah Burch stated, "Happy Arbor Day! I just wanted to thank you for including us in the Redbud tree project. It was a wonderful opportunity for our school community. Some of our students planted the two trees in the front of our building. We look forward to watching them bloom and will be sure to care for them appropriately. It is a learning experience for our students." See pictures below:
