The borough is divided into eight routes for collection of trash and recyclables.

Recycling Guidelines

Single Stream Recycling – Since February 1st, 2007 – “Recycling Made Simple”

It ALL goes in together

  • Newspapers, Magazines, Catalogs
  • Telephone/Soft Cover Books
  • Junk Mail/Envelopes (all types)
  • Paper (all colors, staples/paperclips are okay)
  • Paperboard (cereal boxes – remove plastic liner, beer & soda carriers)
  • Cardboard/Brown Paper Bags
  • Plastic narrow neck bottles numbered #1-2
  • (Soda/Juice/Water Bottles, Milk Jugs, Bleach/Detergent, Shampoo Bottles)
  • Glass Bottles/Jars (any color)
  • Metal Cans (tin/steel/aluminum)
What NOT to include:

  • No Plastic Bags
  • No Unmarked Plastics (laundry baskets/chairs/toys)
  • No Windows/Light Bulbs
  • No Dishes, No Pyrex, No Ceramics
  • No Foam Packaging, No Styrofoam
  • No Recyclables Containing Food Waste

Please remove all lids and rinse…

Also remember…

  • If you need a container, call the Borough @ 610-623-7300
  • Utilize the bins throughout the business district and at the train stations
  • Look for portable recycling units at the 20th Century Club and at Lansdowne’s public events such as the Farmer’s Market and Arts Festival
  • All apartments, condominiums and businesses are required to recycle!
  • Igloos for depositing clear, green and brown glass are also available in the Highland Avenue parking lot.
