Celebrating Flag Day

Lansdowne Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution sponser the 11th Annual Flag Day Celebration, June 14, 2005, Beth Anne Keates, Regent.

After the Colors were presented: Beth Anne Keates, Regent, Lansdowne Chapter introduced: F. D. Hennessy Jr., on behalf of the Alfred Clinton Wunderlick Post 65, American Legion Post who presented the new Flag to Mayor Jayne Young. The Mayor handed the Flag to one of Lansdowne’s finest.

Boy Scout Troops 63 and 333 have the honor to raise the new Borough Flag.

A MCL bugler played as the Flag was raised. The General Smedley D. Butler Detachment #741 Marine Corp League, at the ready to fire a salute.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America was led by Judy DuBois, Flag Chairman, Lansdowne Chapter NSDAR.

Rosemary Hogan, gave greetings from PSSDAR.

Thomas Kerr, grandson of the Founder of Flag Day brought greetings.

Beth Anne Keates, Regent, Lansdowne Chapter presented Thomas Kerr with a Certificate of Appreciation from Lansdowne Chapter NSDAR.

All present enjoyed the musical talent of the Delcordians.

John Morton and Brandywine Societies Children of the American Revolution are holding a faded Flag, ready for a Flag retirement program.

A benediction was given by Rev. David B. Anderson, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lansdowne.
