Keep Your Storm Drains Clear
The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is urging residents to clear storm drains to help prevent flooding as this week’s expected rainfall combines with melting snow to contribute to hazardous flooding conditions. “We know that the snowpack can absorb a good bit of moisture if the storm brings rain,” said PEMA Director Robert P. French, “But depending on how much rain we get, we could be looking at flooding.” French asked residents to make certain that storm drains in their neighborhood are free of snow and other debris. Volunteers Needed for Baltimore Avenue Tree Planting Nov. 21
The Borough of Lansdowne, working together with the TreeVitalize Municipalities Municipal Forestry Incentive Grant Program, is seeking volunteers to assist with the planting of 30 trees along the Baltimore Avenue corridor on Saturday, November 21, at 9 am. This effort is a continuation of the program started last November, when 60 trees were planted along the Baltimore Avenue corridor. To see a case study of the initial planting effort, click here.
