Main Street Program
Lansdowne is a member of the national Main Street program. The Main Street program is an initiative of the National Trust for Historic Preservation designed to prevent the decline of small towns across the United States by stimulating economic growth, revitalizing older downtowns, and fostering community volunteerism.

Elm Street Program
Together with neighboring Yeadon Borough, Lansdowne is part of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Elm Street Program. The Lansdowne-Yeadon Elm Street Program’s goal is to create an attractive neighborhood with multiple housing options that will attract a diverse population as well as utilize the power of arts and culture in community-building and economic prosperity. The Elm Street Program was created to bolster the older historic neighborhoods located within walking distance from revitalized Main Streets.
