Attendence: Mayor Young Councilman Schleigh, Chair Councilwoman Silzle Councilman Urban Chief Kortan All others excused

Public Comment

  • Complaint by Mrs Prater, 256 Windemere re multitude of taxis parking on block
  • Chief Kortan noted that no existing ordinance stops multiple commercial vehicles at one property that have proper overnight parking permits.
  • Suggestion that Codes see if property is being used for non-residential purposes
  • Discussion of State regulations for stop signs and crosswalks – suggestion to have. e mettraffic engineer make suggestions
  • PT policeman should be ready for public swear-in by August televised meeting assuming conditional acceptance requirements ar

Chief’s Report:

  • Robberies in NE Lansdowne under investigation, some stolen goods recovered, suspects identified
  • Chief to write letterto Residents of Gladstone Manor explaining that any ticket given to residence in anti-commuter zones will be forgiven if brought into office within ten days.
  • Will obtain quotes on suggested signs for Lansdowne Parking lot

Mayor’s Report

  • Gave report on public Meeting at Bethel AME where Detective gave good report to public about criminal investigation of robberies in NE Lansdowne
  • Accolades for Police Presence at Farmer’s Market

Discussion of traffic/speed problems on Marshall road

  • crosswalk proposal abandoned upon further deliberation
  • Suggestion to invetsigate making “Please Drive Slow” signs for residents at reasonable cost

To better understand crime issues, Chief will provide weekly crime blotter reports to council members

Emergency Evactuation Plan – Chair to meet with Fire Chief to discuss further

Discussion of Duties of Traffic Advisory Committee – Chief Kortan to discuss Swarthmore Plan with Chief Brian Craig, Chair to discuss with Solicitor
