Finance Committee

Present: Joe Bartley, Janet English, Ellen Lustgarten, Craig Totaro, Stephen Wagner

The Committee reviewed its 2010 Goals in order to set priorities. The Committee will begin to look at each Department’s sources of revenue to determine if they are able to better cover expense.

The Borough Manager reported that the Borough’s actuary has recommended against a Resolution supporting SB1227

The Committee had been asked to review the salaries of the Library staff. It was agreed that Ms. English, Library Liaison and Ms. Lustgarten would meet with the new Library Director for her input.

A discussion was held regarding the benefits opt-out program and whether or not employees currently opting out of Borough coverage would be eligible. The Committee agreed to seek the opinion of the Borough’s labor attorney.

The Committee will recommend to the full Council that the Borough share the cost of installing additional electric service in the Borough lot for the Farmers Market and other activities to a maximum of $1250.

An update was provided on Federal and State grant submissions

Mr. Bartley reported that the 2009 Audit was in process and is due to the state by March 31, 2010

The Committee met in Executive Session for a personnel matter.
