Approval of Minutes Mr. Smith made a motion to approve the January minutes. Mr. Bartmann seconded. Minutes were unanimously approved.    
110 South Wycombe Avenue Plans were presented to the Commission regarding subdividing a single property to build a twin house. Original house burned in a fire – lot is currently empty. The planned structure will front onto Linden Avenue. The house will have a brick front on the first story with vinyl siding on the second story and sides. The side facing Wycombe Avenue will be completely sided with a gable. There was discussion about changing the direction of the siding to vertical or use scalloped siding in the gable to break up the look of the house and add visual interest. The property will not be fenced.

Mr. Bartmann commented that the foundation planting list is acceptable and suggested the addition trees along Wycombe Avenue.

Ms. Floresta commented that the driveway along the front would not be preferable and that trees along Wycombe Avenue would help improve the appearance of the property.
Recommended changes made by Commission members regarding the plans include:

  • Add a variety of shade trees:
    • 2.5″ street trees: three along Linden and 5 along Wycombe;
    • 2 shade trees in each of the backyards
  • Create articulation on gable end on both sides of the structure
  • Add a visual screen against the alley such as a fence or evergreen shrubs
  • Provide shelter over the front doors
  • Include stairs off of the deck
   
Update from Mike Jozwiak
  • 111 South Wycombe Avenue is scheduled for review by the Delaware County Planning Commission on March 18th
  • 53 E. Lansdowne Ave: owner wants to put in 2 apartments and a 1st floor banquet hall. Engineer inspection showed 3rd floor needs to be demolished.
  • 10-12 Lansdowne Avenue owner will be submitting facade plans to the HARB on 3/11/10. Facade plans will also be reviewed by the Planning Commission.
   
Other Business
  • Ms Floresta asked that anyone knowing a suitable candidate for Commission membership to submit that persons name to Councilman Steve Wagner.
  • Members agreed to come to April meeting prepared to discuss the Borough Council goals that were distributed.
   
Adjournment Ms. Schaner made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Smith seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM.
