Regular Meeting Minutes

March 17, 2008

The meeting began at 7:05pm,present were Barry Malone, Mike Mills, Tony Campuzano, Jack Kelly, Khalil Shearlds, Dawn Haussler, Fred Mirarchi, Sherry Spinnraker & BobBartmann. Also present Jeri Staiber Lansdowne’s RecreationDirector, Joe Urban the Council Liaison.

Minutes from February were reviewed & accepted.

Joe Urban, Council Liaison reports.

Joe asked council again about thetoy for Interboro, at this time Boro council does not want, nor do all of the neighbors want a toy at Interboro. Joe asked the board to consider an open spotfor an Exhibit for a Sculpture Garden to co-incide with the Art Festival this summer (requested by members of LECD). Joe also wanted plans from Bob about thenature walk.

Jeri Staiber, Recreation Director and finance report.

Jeri passed out the general ledger. Jeri asked the board if we would vote on surveys both to do with Reservoir Park. One $550 dollar charge to file changes and revise existing plan to reflect new boundary line, (in effect the property line out to where the current fence stands), the board agreed. Two, across from Reservoir up the creek is also the Boro property and the board agreed that parcel should also be surveyed for $1,800. Another $500 for this new survey.

Third survey for $4,800 was tabled for the parking lot at Hoffman Park.

Old &New Business….

Easter egg-hunt went off well, 50 kids inattendance, one negative letter about the timing of the event. The board agreedto extend this activity to become a yearly event. We all thanked Fred for thegreat job he did as Lansdowne’s Easter Rabbit. Suggesting to ask for feedback, have a form at the event for participating parents, possible add a fewgames (bunny hop – sack races), extra bags for the candy, volunteers tohelp clean the park.

Steve Costa, Eagle Scout project.Tony presented two drawing for proposed signs at our two county parks. Shrigley and Pennock, the board agreed on the wording.

Park Brochure was review andafter a few corrections, the board approved the funding and asked Joe to make sure Boro council had no objective to having this inserted in the next newsletter. Mike got a price of $730 for 5,000 copies on glossy paper.

Movie night was agreed on for May31st, after we find out about rain date issues. Fresh Air Flicks would like have deposit, due mid April; start time for movie will be 8:00. The board willbe asking for sponsors, total cost is $2,600.

Barry is putting together acommunity contact listing, that he will pass to members for additional entries.

Tony will ask Jennifer Hoff tosee if we can get her electronic copy of the map of Lansdowne, so we can incorporate into future park events or mailings.

A request for volunteers to help park clean up March 29 th at Hoffman Park.

Fred had requested permission forremoval of the infield grass section of the baseball/softball field nearest tothe stack bar. The Boys and Girls Club will incurred the expense and have the sprinkler company cap or redirect the effected area. The board agreed and will pay for one load of infielder mix, which we have done in the past.
