Board of Health
November 10, 2009
The regular monthly meeting of the Lansdowne Board of Health was held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm. in Borough Hall. Present were Al Them, Bertha Phillips, Betsy Riffert Dr. Romney and. Absent was Councilman Schleigh and Mike McCall
The October meeting minutes were approved as submitted.
Inspector Spangler’s September invoice was reviewed and approved, as the Board pre-approved this invoice at their October meeting, as is the practice of the Board. His October invoice for $260 was reviewed and approved for payment.
Health Officer’s Report:
The Health Officer’s report for October was approved as submitted.
- Home Based Businesses: Mr. Them’s draft letter and the Board’s approved addition to the ordinance will be presented to Councilman Schleigh for his presentation to council, and the input of Solicitor Scott.
Ms. Riffert is going to call each home based business and advise them of the Department of Agriculture’s stance on our inspecting these businesses, and essentially leaving them out.
- William Penn School District Letter: Ms. Riffert presented the letter Mr. Them drafted (attached) and will be mailed out in tomorrow’s mail. Inspector Spangler will receive a copy of this letter and will be asked to keep the Board up to date with how the school district is coming along, as far as the necessary repairs.
- Mr. Them’s retirement
Board of Health President, Mr. Al Them, will not be asking to be reappointed to the Board. He has served the residents of the Borough for the past 11 years, and they are much better for it.
