Health Officer’s Report:

The Health Officer’s report for February was approved as submitted with no comments

Old Business:

1. Mesquite Bar-B-Que: Ms. Riffert alerted the Board of the fire at this establishment on Thursday, February 12, which was two days after our February’s meeting. Needless to say, Building Inspector Jozwiak did shut this establishment down until further notice. Ms. Riffert reported that she was informally advised that this establishment has cleaned out, and their lease is not being renewed.

2. PA Department of Health Home-Based Business Inspections: Mr. Them updated Council Liaison Schleigh on the PA Department of Health issue. Riffert stated she is still awaiting a return call from the state. A discussion was held. Ms. Riffert will report via email as soon as she receives information and report at the May meeting.

New Business:

1. Cinema 16:9: Ms. Riffert reported that Cinema 16:9 will be selling pre-packaged foods, coffee, popcorn. Inspector Spangler has been out to this new establishment and licensing paperwork has been mailed.

2. 16 S. Lansdowne (“Sycamore Café”?): Ms. Riffert mentioned that this establishment (the old Regency Café Location) will be re-opening as a café, mid summer. They are not that far along to alert Inspector Spangler for an inspection. He will be kept informed of their progress and alerted when inspections are needed.

7:34pm. Next meeting to be held on May 12, 2009 at 7:00 pm

Respectfully submitted,
Betsy Riffert
